Benefit Concert for KPFZ

Scottish Folk singers Alan Reid and Rob Van Sante will be coming to Lake County to perform a benefit concert for KPFZ 88.1 FM, Lake County Community Radio.  Both Reid and Van Sante are former members of the well known Scottish group, The Battlefield Band which was recently inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame. 

The concert will be on Saturday, April 29th at 7:30 pm at the Fore Family Winery Tasting Room located at 3920 Main St. in Kelseyville.  Tickets are $22.  KPFZ members receive a $2 discount. Tickets are available at Watershed Books located at 350 N. Main St. in Lakeport or at Fore Family Winery.

KPFZ Annual Spring Fun-A-Thon Starts on April 22nd

KPFZ's annual Spring Fun-A-Thon starts on Saturday, April 22nd at 12:01 a.m. with Peter, host of Wicked Good.  The fun ramps up more  because instead of shows being rebroadcast, they will be LIVE.  At 3:00 a.m. when KPFZ's own Rocker Chicks, Q and Deb, will be LIVE in the Studio along with their peanut gallery.  At 7:00 a.m., Stu, host of Surface Noise, will also be LIVE in the Studio to keep the ball up in the air.

Join us at the Studio on Saturday, April 22.  Bring a goodie to share with others at the Open House.  This is a great chance to meet other members, programmers, and volunteers.  

KPFZ depends on memberships and donations to stay on the air.  Annual memberships are $50 with a Family membership available at $100.  There is a Sustaining Member option which has a monthly amount charged to your credit or debit card (minimum amount is $10/mo) for the year.  Stop by the KPFZ office at 149 S. Main Street in Lakeport to pay your membership and/or receive your pledge premium.  You can also mail your membership form and check to KPFZ, PO Box 446, Lakeport, CA 95453.  There is also a membership page on the website at http://kpfz.org/Support/Membership.  Lake County Community Radio, KPFZ, is a 501(c)(3) organization.  All donations are tax deductible.  Members receive a discount when purchasing tickets to KPFZ events.

Volunteers are needed to assist with this event - from answering phones to helping raise funds on the air.  If you are interested in volunteering, call the KPFZ office at 707/263.3640.  Or just drop in anytime during the week and we'll put you to work.

Benefit Concert on March 11 Featuring Barry "The Fish" Melton Band

The Barry "The Fish" Melton Band returns to the Soper Reese on Saturday, March 11, 2017 for a benefit concert for KPFZ 88.1 FM, Lake County Community Radio. The dance floor will be open.

This incredible 60's all-star band consists of Barry "The Fish" Melton of Country Joe and the Fish and Woodstock fame, Peter Albin from Big Brother and The Holding Company on bass, Lowell "Banana" Levinger from the Youngbloods on electric piano and guitar, Roy Blumenfeld from the Blues Project on drums, and David Aguilar from the Norton Buffalo Band on guitar.

Tickets are $15, $20 and $25 - all reserved seating - so get your tickets soon!  We sold out for this show in 2015. Select your seats online at www.soperreesetheatre.com or at the Soper Reese box office on Fridays or at the Travel Center in Lakeport near Grocery Outlet. The Soper Reese Theatre is located at 275 South Main Street in Lakeport, California.  Show your KPFZ membership card to get a discount.

His Songs of the Week are spun regularly by folk music DJ’s across the country and he’s a frequent guest on Sirius Radio’s syndicated show “West Coast Live.”
